It's like a scavenger hunt to find the right bin for each piece of waste. This is how we turn students into waste superheroes🚀. The New Lyceum chose to get the Bonton stickers designed by their own students.

Separating waste at school has never been so much fun! With the ''Afvalrace'' card game you learn to separate waste as best as possible in a playful way. The goal is to make new products from your 'waste'. You can do this by making sure that you only have cards of 1 type of waste in your hand. If you succeed, you score points! But fellow players can also throw pollution into your container (this way we show that separation is useful!) to bother you.

We beseffen ons goed dat we als opleidingsinstituut een belangrijke bijdrage kunnen leveren aan maatschappelijke uitdagingen. De wereld van de toekomst met onze studenten van de toekomst staat voor ons centraal. We werken nu iets langer dan twee jaar samen en sindsdien is de hoeveelheid restafval al met ruim 10% verminderd. Doordat we nu bijvoorbeeld PD apart inzamelen is er meer dan 19.000 kilo geen restafval geworden. Hiervan zijn ruim 1.700 Bontons gemaakt. Die Bontons gebruiken we weer voor afvalscheiding in de scholen. Samen maken we dus echt de cirkel van afval naar nieuw product rond!

Het Porteum in Lelystad is een gloednieuwe onderwijscampus die bestaat uit zeven kleinere gebouwen: drie voor het vmbo, drie voor het havo/vwo én een cultuurgebouw. Het is in deze hoedanigheid de grootste middelbare school van Nederland. Dit moest natuurlijk een groene, duurzame en inspirerende omgeving worden. Dat is ook de reden dat er voor de Bonton is gekozen. We zien dat leraren, medewerkers en leerlingen die bewust bezig zijn met duurzaamheid meteen zien dat de Bonton gemaakt is van gerecycled materiaal. Het is fijn om te zien dat de Bonton niet alleen duurzaam is, maar dit ook uitstraalt.

Het Nieuwe Lyceum kreeg de opdracht vanuit de gemeente de Bilt om na te denken over het scheiden van afval. Deze afvalbak heeft een compleet en duurzaam verhaal met oog voor de toekomst. Het is voor de docenten en leerlingen thuis heel normaal om afval te scheiden en daarom zijn ze blij dat dit ook op school wordt ingevoerd. Wel is het nog even wennen dat ze moeten lopen om het afval weg te gooien. Echter, voor je kopje koffie loop je ook naar de kantine, dus waarom niet voor je afval? De Bonton maakt het scheiden van afval makkelijk en leerzaam voor iedere leerling. We wilden een product wat goed in de klas past, tegen een stootje kan en een lange levensduur (20 jaar) heeft. Daarnaast was de prijs goed. Mochten we uiteindelijk toch besluiten om een module toe te voegen voor bijvoorbeeld GFT, dan kunnen we de huidige modules makkelijk uitbreiden. Het weggooien van de eerder aangeschafte modules is dus niet nodig. Ook dat is een prettige en duurzame gedachte.
